We believe in trust and transparency and want you to know who you are working with. Meet the members of our team and get to know them before they work on your dream home.

Greg Renz - Owner

Greg has been in the business for a long time. He was drawn to it at 12 years old as he rode in the work van with his father, a German carpenter, to the lumberyard. Working alongside his father, Greg mastered old-school carpentry skills, including stick and balloon framing. Today, applies these skills to craft safe, comfortable homes where families can thrive.

On the Job
You’ll find Greg at the job site, working closely with his team and focusing on the intricate details of custom builds. He enjoys teaching stick framing techniques and is committed to doing things the right way the first time.

Favorite Pastimes
Though Greg is passionate about what he does, he doesn’t work all the time. During his days off, he enjoys time with his wife, Wendy, and their children, Mason and Isabella, or cheering for Wisconsin sports teams.

Wendy Renz - Owner

Wendy honed her customer service, project management, relationship building, and budgeting skills as an office manager for a fire protection company. With a keen eye for detail and a tenacious attitude, she keeps Renz Construction projects on track. Wendy builds relationships wherever she goes, and you can trust her to steer you in the right direction on your home build.

On the Job
You’ll see Wendy pretty much everywhere. She spends most of her days visiting job sites, documenting progress, coordinating with architects, subcontractors and craftsmen, and with clients, helping them make personalized selections for their homes. In the office, Wendy manages the paperwork and permits, expedites project timelines, and keeps the lines of communication open with everyone involved.

Favorite Pastimes
Wendy’s days are pretty full, but when she’s not working, you’ll find her gardening; walking Chewbacca, the family dog; taking in a movie with Greg; and spending time with their children, Mason and Isabella Cheering for Wisconsin sports teams runs in the family. Wendy has a passionate team spirit too.

Tony
Carpenter

Tony joined the team in 2020 as lead carpenter. His favorite part of the job is seeing the client’s vision come together in a quality finished product.

On the Job
Tony is at the job site, every day, making sure all work is done to the highest quality.

Favorite Pastimes
Waukesha County isn’t Tony’s home, but it’s his preferred place for exploration. When he’s off the clock, he likes to kick back with his daughter, family, and friends; go on trips; and, of course, go fishing.

Mike
Carpenter

Mike is a lead carpenter with nearly two decades of experience. He has worked on several major projects.

On the Job
At the job site, Mike plays a key role in framing and setting homes.

Favorite Pastimes
Outside of work, Mike likes to spend time with his sons and relax and unwind by taking his motorcycle or Corvette out for a spin.

Kris
Carpenter

Kris joined the Renz team in 2022, bringing over eight years of experience with him. His love for music translates into his carpentry work, where he expresses his creative spirit.

On the Job
At the job site, Kris brings passion and creativity to each task.

Favorite Pastimes
Kris loves spending time with his wife and daughter. As a lifelong Lake Country resident, he is familiar with the area and enjoys discovering new project sites and creating music.

Mason
Carpenter

Mason, Wendy and Greg’s son, developed a passion for carpentry at a young age and now works full-time with Renz Construction.

On the Job
Mason is a familiar face at the job site, where he is immersed in demo, rough and finish carpentry and assists with all construction tasks.

Favorite Pastimes
When Mason’s got some free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends, hunting and fishing, golfing and hitting the gym.

Jackson (JJ)
Apprentice Carpenter

With a strong passion for carpentry and a determination to enhance his skills, JJ became a valuable addition to the Renz team in 2023. Having lived in Lake County for most of his life, he’s excited to contribute to building beautiful area homes.

On the Job
At the job site, JJ is engaged in construction carpentry and performs various tasks. He eagerly immerses himself in every chance to acquire new knowledge and skills.

Favorite Pastimes
JJ’s favorite pastimes include playing and watching sports, golfing and playing hockey, hitting the gym, and socializing with friends.
