We worked with our clients to design and construct a 4,000 sq. ft., custom outbuilding in Waterford, WI that accommodates a number of functions including vehicle, boat, and utv storage; a fully equipped shop; a processing area for hunters; and a grooming center for their dogs. They also needed a large enough driveway to easily maneuver large vehicles with trailers and boats in and out of the custom-built garage.

ABOUT THE GARAGE EXTERIOR

Our Racine County clients wanted the new outbuilding to have the same chic exterior details as their home, so we used the same rough-sawn cedar as siding for the outbuilding. We added custom wood brackets and shutters around each bronze-framed window with decorative transom and added a beautiful portico along the side for year-round firewood storage. Our builders also installed decorative stone imported from Montana wrapping around the bottom of the entire structure. We worked with a custom garage door vendor to install unique 12’x18’ cedar garage doors and finished the building with a custom metal roof.

ABOUT THE GARAGE INTERIOR

To carry their aesthetic throughout, we installed custom doors, trim, and woodwork made of knotty elder. The garage floor is an industrial strength epoxy with floor drains for easy clean up and maintenance. We installed custom cedar stairs and handrails for easy access to the storage on the second floor.

The interior of the garage is a multi-functional space specially designed to meet the needs of their adventurous lifestyle. The hunters of the family have access to a fully outfitted processing center for their bounty that includes a custom industrial sink with a pull-down faucet. The outbuilding also includes a workshop with a custom store-wall for storage, a full bathroom, lofted storage, and a provision for a golf simulator. There is Wi-Fi, A/V wiring, plumbing, heat, and hot water along with app-controlled lighting throughout the building.
